The Buddhist Tradition:
ethics, compassion, and wisdom

We organize courses and study programs with expert Eastern and Western teachers, where new and experienced students can learn and deepen their understanding of Buddhist philosophy and lifestyle.

Introduction to Buddhist Thought
This series of meetings aims to introduce the key concepts of Buddhist thought in a way that facilitates its understanding. One-day seminars will be held once or twice a month, featuring teachings, guided meditations, and discussions. Some topics will focus more on the philosophical side—our values, our view of reality—while others will focus more on the psychological side, helping us improve our relationships with ourselves and others.
The course is aimed at those with no previous experience in Buddhism, as well as those who are already familiar with Buddhism and would like to take the opportunity to deepen their experience of the topics.

Classes are held on Saturdays or Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The next cycle will begin when there are at least 10 interested participants.

10-Day Program:

  1. The Potential of Our Mind
  2. The Four Noble Truths
  3. What is Karma?
  4. Samsara and Nirvana – How to find Inner Peace
  5. Life, Death, Rebirth
  6. Do we See Reality as It Is?
  7. Shamatha and Vipasana
  8. Meditating on Universal Love and Compassion

Meditation retreats

We organize guided group retreats and individual retreats for individual practitioners who would like to do their own practices.

Guided Group Retreats
We organize guided retreat with silent and analytical meditation, which can last from 1 to 10 days. Retreats are led by experienced Tibetan or Western teachers.

Individual Retreats
For individual practitioners who have already received retreat instructions, we can offer a quiet room with a private entrance. This arrangement allows for an undisturbed retreat for periods ranging from three days to three months. Natural foods can be provided, and in some cases, meals must be prepared by the guest.
The months from December to March are particularly suitable for individual retreats, as during this time, silence is predominantly observed throughout the house.

The months of July and August are less suitable.
Assistance with meditation practice is available upon request.

Ecodharma

Taking care of the natural world in order to take care of ourselves allows us to realize the profound Buddhist theme of interdependence as the basis of our living.

Ecological thinking and the practice of compassion towards all living beings are themes passionately indicated also by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. A positive change at a planetary level starts with a change of our outlook, based on respect, kindness, and an ethical attitude.
The compulsion to consume and exploit natural resources is an expression of that longing that the Buddha identified as the root of suffering, and it is therefore very important to promote activities and thought stimuli oriented towards the development of our human and spiritual potential in harmony with the natural world.
The dramatic social and economic crisis connected to climate change can be seen as an urgent solicitation for a personal and collective awakening, to immediately start personal, coherent and respectful reflections and practices to reestablish an ecological balance that appears increasingly precarious.

As Master T. Serra says, we must move from Ego to Eco, as a daily life choice to develop compassion and commitment to the well-being of this generation and those to come.
The Kushi Ling Center offers meditation and mindful practice activities in nature, and organizes events aimed at developing a respectful and loving attitude towards the natural elements that are intimately connected to our quality of life. Environmental ecology is connected to the ecology of the mind, and of our actions, and the more the mind is polluted by selfishness and greed, the more we will be separated from the wisdom of the Earth, and the more we will suffer the consequences (T. Serra).

The Center promotes collaboration and the exchange of initiatives in the field of ecology and Dharma practice, with other associations and organizations, public and private, that have the shared goal of increasing environmental sensitivity and commitment to the development of a new and profound ecological awareness.

The Tara Rokpa process

Tara Rokpa is a compassion-based method of therapy and a self-responsible process of inner development and maturation.

Its main source is the philosophy, psychology and meditation practice of Buddhism, combined with Western psychotherapeutic methods and understanding. It was founded by the Tibetan meditation teacher Akong Rinpoche. For those interested in Buddhism and meditation, Tara Rokpa is an ideal starting point, connecting our personal experience and a deeper understanding of meditation practice.
Tara Rokpa groups have started in many countries worldwide. Apart from the UK and Ireland, we started groups in Finland, Sweden, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, South Africa, Zimbabwe, etc.

If you are interested in the group process or individual work according to this method you can contact us.

Contemplative art / Art therapy

We organise courses in which meditation meets creativity, for example “Meditate and Paint” or Dance/Movement therapy.
There is an art room, in which interested people can express themselves creatively – with or without advice from an experienced art therapist.
